Inflation and purchasing power have always been among our main concerns. That’s why we’d like to share with you this program from ARTE. tv, which shows the wave of social unrest that has swept across Europe in recent months in an unprecedented way.

Inflation, rising energy and commodity prices: Europeans are being strangled and are taking to the streets. Record demonstrations against pension reform in France, a general strike atmosphere in the UK, trade union mobilization in Spain, Italy, Denmark and the Netherlands: social discontent is shaking the Old Continent, but for the time being the authorities – both governmental and employer – have failed to give in.

Is this a sign of the decline of trade unions and collective action? Is strike action still the way to get things done?
