Labour Day 2025 –

This Labour Day, Union Syndicale Fédérale (USF) joins trade unionists across Europe in celebrating the power and perseverance of workers, especially those serving the public good. In 2025, we also pause to commemorate a solemn milestone: 80 years since the defeat of fascism in Europe. This anniversary is a powerful reminder of what’s at stake when freedom is threatened and how workers who unite have always played an important role in defending democracy.

Across Europe, far-right ideologies are once again on the rise, threatening the democratic principles our unions are built on. USF stands firmly against all forms of fascism, discrimination, and authoritarianism. As public service workers in the European institutions, we know firsthand the importance of upholding democratic values, safeguarding workers’ rights, and ensuring that solidarity and justice remain at the core of European governance.

USF reaffirms its dedication to these principles, not just in memory of the past, but in defence of our collective future. On this Labour Day, we commit to carrying the spirit of resistance forward, standing for democracy, decent work, and a truly social Europe.

Union Syndicale Fédérale – For workers’ rights. For democracy. And  solidarity for all.
