Elections 2018: striking victory in EU Delegations as result of an exemplary team work! Many thanks to all for the precious support!

On 5th October 2018, the Electoral Office received 4 lists totaling 52 full candidates. Numbers 1 to 4 were attributed by lot to the lists: 1 – TOGETHER FOR EU – ENSEMBLE POUR EU ; 2 – GENERATION 2004 ; 3 – UNION SYNDICALE DELEGATIONS ; 4 – USHU Unité et Solidarité Hors Union /Unity and Solidarity Outside the EU.

According to the procedure for the election of the section of the Staff Committee for staff serving outside the Union, adopted following consultation (“referendum”) of the officials and other servants serving in non-member countries from 3 to 5 November 2008, the following procedures were carried out:

1. Counting of the total number of electronic ballots, valid and invalid ballots.

2. Counting of the number of votes.

3. All the votes on the ballot papers (21 423) were counted so as to place the candidates in order of preference according to the total number of votes received by each of them.

4. The first 8 candidates having obtained the highest number of votes are automatically elected according to Article 11 of the procedure for the election of the section of the staff Committee for staff serving outside the Union.

5. The remaining 6 seats are allocated based on proportional distribution (d’Hondt method) to the lists having obtained in total (total of the votes obtained by all couples in the list) a minimum of 5% of votes. Each list gets a number of seats based on its representativity. The elected candidates from each list are those who obtained the highest number of votes and are not automatically elected under point 4, up to the remaining 6 seats.

The 4 lists consequently share in the awarding of those 6 seats.
