United for Petten Elected for Local Staff Committee

US-Petten

The coalition United for Petten is the clear winner of the elections for the Local Staff Committee in Petten. Composed of members of the local trade unions Union Syndicale Petten (US‑Petten) and FFPE Petten, the seven candidate pairs collected more than 80% of the votes, improving the 2023 result by almost six percentage points.

These elections confirm the strong result achieved in 2023, when the same coalition succeeded in electing six candidate pairs led by US‑Petten and one pair led by FFPE‑Petten.

In a clear demonstration of its commitment to representing all colleagues, the newly elected committee brings together staff from a broad range of contract types and from the large majority of units on site. This inclusive approach is further reflected in a gender‑balanced composition and a broad geographical representation.

Reflecting both dynamism and the high level of staff turnover at the JRC, the new committee includes eight new members, half of whom will serve as full members. Among the incumbents, half will continue their engagement as deputies, ensuring continuity alongside renewal.

The election result is not only a strong endorsement of the high‑quality work carried out by US‑Petten and the outgoing committee, but also recognition of the effective synergies within the Union Syndicale Fédération (USF). In particular, the regular visits of USF representatives, who presented and discussed a range of specific topics of direct relevance to colleagues in Petten, have strengthened coordination, information sharing, and collective action across sites.

This renewed mandate reinforces the responsibility of United for Petten to continue defending the integrity of the site, representing staff interests with determination, and supporting every colleague with professionalism and solidarity.

In solidarity,

Vaida Rukaite Drazdove and Jean-Pierre Schosger
