The coalition United for Petten is the clear winner of the elections for the local staff committee in Petten. Composed by members of local trade unions Union Syndicale Petten and FFPE Petten, the seven candidate pairs managed to collect more than 80% of the share of the votes, improving the 2023 result by almost six percentage points.
These elections saw a repeat of the result from 2023, when the same coalition managed to also elect six pairs led by US-Petten and a pair led by FFPE-Petten.
In a demonstration of the commitment to representing everyone, the newly elected committee is made up of members from a broad base of contract types, and with colleagues from a large majority of the units on site. This commitment is further demonstrated by being gender balanced and showing a broad geographical base.
In a show of dynamism, but also of the high staff turnover at the JRC, the new committee sees the arrival of eight new faces, half of them as full members. From the incumbents, half will return as deputies.
The result of these elections is not only the recognition of the hard work done by the outgoing committee, but also raises the level of responsibility that United for Petten bears in defending the integrity of the site, representing the interests of the staff, and supporting every colleague.
