International Women’s Day 2026

News

Rights are not only ideas. Justice is not only an idea. Equality is not only an idea. We live them, defend them, and move them forward together.

In the past few weeks, something wonderful has taken place. Our union syndicale’s members, colleagues from all parts of the EU institutions and across Europe joined our campaign with energy, creativity, and heart. We received photos from offices, homes, and mission sites. Each one was different and unique, but all showed our unity. Some members proudly held their posters. Some chose to stay anonymous, showing only their message. Some people made their own hashtags. The campaign grew. More people joined.

Next week, we will show you the result of our project in a video collage ! We can’t wait! Stay tuned. Watch this space !

This mix of voices and images shows us something important: Even when we work far apart, across buildings, agencies, and borders, we remain connected. We are linked by solidarity, by shared values, and by the union spirit that binds us together.

On this International Women’s Day, we take it as a good occasion to celebrate every woman, every colleague, and every contribution, every day. This campaign is more than just pictures. It reminds us of the strength we share together. Rights are not only ideas. Justice is not only an idea. Equality is not only an idea. We live them, defend them, and move them forward together.

To everyone who participated in every way: Thank you.

Your image, your hashtag, and your presence, whether seen or unseen, make our collective voice stronger. Today, we celebrate International Women’s Day. Together, we make sure that recognition, solidarity, and action continue long after March 8th.

Union Syndicale stands with women—not only today but every day. Together, we move forward, united in recognition, solidarity, and action.

Dear colleagues,

International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026 invites us to imagine a world where generosity fuels equality and where every act of support strengthens the rights and dignity of all women and girls. It reminds us that when we share knowledge, mentor others, advocate for fairness, or donate our time and resources, we help create opportunities that benefit entire communities.

Alongside this, UN Women’s 2026 theme: “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls”, calls on each of us to stand for systems where justice is accessible, protections are real, and equality is actionable. Together, these themes highlight a simple truth: personal contributions and systemic change are both essential for lasting progress.
