USF Statement of Solidarity for the Spanish General Strike

Union Syndicale Fédérale (USF) stands in full and active solidarity with our Spanish colleagues in CCOO, UGT and all workers mobilising in the General Strike of 11 November against unaffordable housing, stagnating wages, the rising cost of living and the erosion of public services.

This strike sends a powerful message: workers refuse to accept a society where people work harder yet struggle to afford a home, where public services are weakened while inequalities continue to grow, and where social progress is sacrificed in the name of austerity and short-term economic interests.

The demands raised in Spain are not uniquely Spanish. Across Europe, workers face the same pressures: soaring housing costs, declining purchasing power, understaffed public services, and increasing attacks on social rights. The challenges may take different forms from one country to another, but their roots are often the same. This is why the struggle of Spanish workers concerns all European workers.

USF firmly believes that trade union solidarity must cross borders. When workers in one country stand up and fight for decent wages, affordable housing, quality public services and social justice, they strengthen the position of workers everywhere. Every mobilisation that advances workers’ rights in Europe benefits the entire labour movement.

We salute the courage, determination and unity of the Spanish trade union movement. On 11 November, Spanish workers will not stand alone. They carry with them the support and solidarity of trade unionists across Europe.

Your fight is our fight. Your victory will be a victory for workers throughout Europe.

In unity and solidarity,

Union Syndicale Fédérale (USF)
