{"id":5567,"date":"2017-07-26T16:20:05","date_gmt":"2017-07-26T15:20:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unionsyndicale.eu\/?p=5567"},"modified":"2023-12-15T16:37:51","modified_gmt":"2023-12-15T15:37:51","slug":"studies-on-the-negative-impact-of-tisa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unionsyndicale.eu\/en\/studies-on-the-negative-impact-of-tisa\/","title":{"rendered":"Studies on the negative impact of TiSA"},"content":{"rendered":"<section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_auto\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_flex valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"vc_col-sm-12 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"g-cols wpb_row via_flex valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"vc_col-sm-2 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vc_col-sm-8 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column us_custom_432d3f53\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Studies on the negative impact of TiSA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As reported in the February EPSU trade update, <a href=\"https:\/\/unionsyndicale.eu\/en\/files\/tisa\/\">TiSA<\/a> negotiations have come to a halt and there are uncertainties about the future of the negotiations, at least until the position of the US is clearer. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trade-sia.com\/tisa\/downloads\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The draft final Sustainability Impact Assessment (SIA) and the report of the civil dialogue meeting<\/a> on 17 May that discussed the SIA is available. EPSU reiterated its concerns over the lack of protection for public services and workers\u2019 rights.<\/p>\n<p>A number of organisations have published further studies about the negative impact of TiSA:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>In May the ITF (International Transport Federation) published research into the effects of TiSA on transport workers, commissioned by the ITF and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (see EPSU update on trade developments July 2017 <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/39AmQK\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the full report and the executive summary<\/a>.\u00a0ITF has a new project to coordinate actions to oppose TiSA \u2013 see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tisameanstrouble.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.tisameanstrouble.org<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>In July UNI Global published <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thefutureworldofwork.org\/stories\/uni-global\/tisa-foul-play\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u2018foul play\u2019 about the impact of TiSA<\/a> on UNI\u2019s sectors.<\/li>\n<li>Also in July, Scott Sinclair drafted a comprehensive study \u201cTiSA Troubles: Services, Democracy and Corporate Rule in the Trump Era\u201d for the Rosa Luxembourg foundation.
