The same survey is run simultaneously in international organisations all over Europe and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>cost of housing<\/strong>\u00a0is a key component in the estimation of the overall purchasing power parities and correction coefficients applied in the yearly update of salaries.<\/p>\n<p>For EU institutions and organs,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unionsyndicale.eu\/en\/the-method-the-historical-struggle-of-us\/\"><strong>the\u00a0Method<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0of adjusting pay and pension is laid down in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eur-lex.europa.eu\/legal-content\/EN\/TXT\/?uri=CELEX:01962R0031-20140101#tocId383\">Annex XI of the Staff Regulations<\/a>\u00a0(it is worth noting that the current \u2018Method\u2019 was secured following a number of protracted strikes in the 1980s and 90s. Union Syndicale was at the forefront of the fight to secure an automatic method (thus the historical struggle) for the adjustment of salaries).<\/p>\n<p>As a designer and guardian of the Method,<strong>\u00a0Union Syndicale F\u00e9d\u00e9rale\u00a0<\/strong>has always defended it whenever it was misapplied or blocked.
