In 2024, Union Syndicale F\u00e9d\u00e9rale celebrates its 50th anniversary. All these years spent striving to do better for the staff of the European institutions. Each component in Brussels, Luxembourg, Ispra, Karlsruhe, Petten, Berlin, Munich and Strasbourg has proved itself equal to the task, and worthy of representing staff in institutional and inter-institutional settings.<\/p>\n

Union Syndicale Brussels covers an important network of sections in existing institutions, enabling other sections located far from the union’s headquarters to keep abreast of internal social and economic policy developments. Union Syndicale F\u00e9d\u00e9rale has laid the foundations for political and social synergy, enabling all colleagues in difficulty to find support, help and a sympathetic ear at any time.<\/p>\n

The strike actions orchestrated by the union itself as leader: 1992, 2004, 2014, change of status – the Caston report reforming careers, not forgetting the countless meetings with our authorities to find more acceptable agreements for all colleagues.<\/p>\n

The Commission’s Brussels-based sections, the USB and the Luxembourg section, the USL, which unfortunately preferred to join forces with other players in the political representation of staff, organized protest actions to oppose the unilateral decisions of our authorities.<\/p>\n

The Union Syndicale F\u00e9d\u00e9rale Luxembourg, born of a grouping of courageous members in view of the current socio-economic situation, has returned to the foundations of the Union F\u00e9d\u00e9rale, in order to pursue the principal missions of a trade union. As the days go by, Union Syndicale F\u00e9d\u00e9rale continues and will continue to gather its forces with the essential aim of fighting for the staff of the European institutions. This year is an appropriate time to recall the important role played by USF here, there and elsewhere.<\/p>\n
