Whether between agents or officials of the Commission, the Council, the EEAS, the Economic and Social Committee or agencies, in far too many instances, relations have declined between our services.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are colleagues and we are faced with the same issues\u2026<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

Such as access to day care, the European school, education allowances, parental leave, not to mention various restrictions regarding medical expenses.<\/p>\n

We have noticed a significant deterioration in our working conditions\u2026<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

Whether in relation to career development, promotion, reclassification, mobility or remote working. Far too often, these topics are only discussed for a few minutes each year, while decisions are made without any justification by a leader.<\/p>\n

Inequality is increasing, the comparison of merits is granted less importance and the statutory rules are biased. Why are AST staff the ones who have to bear the full brunt of the 5% reduction in staff, decided in agreement with the Commission?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Like me, you are or will most likely be faced with demotivating bureaucratic issues and a minimal fix approach in the area of medical expenses, paid leave, accident cover and serious illness.<\/p>\n

Why should we be afraid to defend our rights?<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

Other issues may arise depending on your grade, your DG and your place of employment (delegation or agency), with respect to annual leave, living conditions, mobility, rotation, etc.<\/p>\n

You may, for instance, be faced with ‘political’ restructuring, developments in your career, retraining, a change in grade, personal leave, external activities or access to unemployment for certain agents.<\/p>\n

You may also face a lack of solidarity, a lack of recognition of your work or excessive and unjustified demands.<\/p>\n

I can assure you that, for several decades, Union Syndicale F\u00e9d\u00e9rale(USF)\u00a0has been effectively dealing with all of these issues and questions and ensures the follow-up of all of its members’ cases in every institution and place of employment.<\/p>\n

Union Syndicale F\u00e9d\u00e9rale supports all categories of staff and offers solutions adapted to each situation. Each year, we answer some 3,000 questions and provide support to over 1,500 employees through:<\/p>\n

  • a range of internal training programmes,<\/li>\n
  • defence during administrative enquiries,<\/li>\n
  • intervention and claims under article 90 with respect to the administration,<\/li>\n
  • the follow-up of cases\/promotion\/reimbursement of medical fees, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Union Syndicale F\u00e9d\u00e9rale guarantees respect for the Staff Regulations and does not hesitate to call on specialised lawyers to help all employees. For example, in 2017, we recorded more than 250 consultations with our specialist lawyers.<\/p>\n

    Union Syndicale F\u00e9d\u00e9rale\u00a0does not hesitate to defend your rights before the Court of Justice either and has an extremely good track record.<\/p>\n
